Until we launched our licensing program in July, there had been nothing to prevent anyone from selling products using Ithaca College's good name and reputation. We were a rarity in higher education in that we had no way to protect the rights to the commercial use of our names. To remedy that concern, the college instituted a trademark and licensing program.

On Tuesday, October 11th at 7:00PM, Ithaca College welcomes renowned nuclear activist Helen Caldicott M.D., who will be presenting “Lessons from Fukushima: what role should nuclear energy and natural gas extraction play in our energy future?”  This lecture will take place in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Recording artist Janet Burgan will present a pre-lecture concert starting at 6:30PM.

Asian American filmmaker Yun Suh is the director/producer/writer for award-winning feature-length documentary "City Of Borders". On Tuesday, she will be talking about her experiences of being an Asian American woman filmmaker as well as Asian representation in the media.
There will be food!

It is my pleasure to invite faculty applications for the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 semester of the London Sabbatical Program. Applicants should be eligible for an approved and funded sabbatical from their school covering faculty salary either for the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 semester. The selected faculty members are expected to teach one course complementary to the London Center curriculum, interact with London Center instructors and students, and attend London Center faculty meetings.

"The Bacchae"

The "god of the vine" comes to Dillingham when Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts presents Euripides’ play, “The Bacchae.” This production will be directed by Danielle Sessler ’12 as the first of two of the department’s Senior Directing Projects.

"City of Borders" tells the story of a gay bar named "Shushan" in Jerusalem - an unusual symbol of unity that defies generations of division and prejudice. "City of Borders" goes inside this sanctuary where people of opposing nationalities, religions, and sexual orientations created an island of peace in a land divided by war.

Assistant Professor Catherine Taylor has just received a two-year grant from the New York State Council for the Arts (NYSCA) for her work with Essay Press, an independent press dedicated to innovative book-length literary essays.
