Substance abuse is a concern across all age groups, but as our society ages, addressing the special treatment needs of those who are older, have chronic diseases, or live in senior housing becomes vital to insure positive outcomes. The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute annual conference, The New Face of Older Adults: Substance Abuse Diagnoses and Treatment will be held on September 22 in the Emerson Suites on campus. Now is the time to register.

The Ithaca College Student Handbook is now on-line and may be accessed at https://www.ithaca.edu/sacl/handbook.  There is a lot of valuable information in the handbook, including the student conduct code, policies, and residential life information, with which you should become familiar.

IC Squash is back for another fun season of squash! We're looking for new members with or without previous experience. Anyone is welcome to join. We'll have a table set up at the student organization fair on Wednesday, September 7th from 10:00-3:00. Our first club meeting of the season will be Thursday, September 8th, at 8:00 p.m. in the Six Mile Creek room in the campus center.

The Folk Music Club is IC's newest music club formed with the intention of connecting students who have an interest in all sorts of folk music, particularly traditional American folk music. The club is also open to Ithaca College faculty and staff members. Opened in 1985 and located on 12 acres of land just three miles from Ithaca College, Coddington Child Care Center provides child care on a sliding scale rate based on family income and continues to serve the community as a not-for-profit organization. Current openings include:

Toddler Room - 18 months to 3 years

  • One full-time opening from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
  • One part-time, full day opening on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Pre-Kindergarten - 3 years to 5 years

  • Five full-time openings from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
  • Three part-time, Tuesday/Thursday openings with pickup times at 2 pm or 5 pm

Optical Scanning Procedures

Information Technology Services would like to remind all instructors and administrative staff to review the Optical Scanning procedures to ensure tests and evaluations are processed and returned in a timely manner and with minimal interruption. Please visit our website for details.

  • Requests must be dropped off and picked up at the ITS Helpdesk (Job Hall)
  • A request form and key sheet must be provided for each test scoring request
  • A request form with appropriate setup file/template must be provided for each course evaluation request
  • Changes to current processes or new requests should be directed to Computer Operations in advance.

Are you planning to go to London in the Spring?  If so, you should know that we have had to change the application deadline due to the complications of the new British visa system.  Also, for the first time we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted and reviewed through the end of the day on Friday, September 16.  The earlier you apply, the sooner you can be accepted!
