Sunday Welcome Mass

The IC Catholic Community will celebrate Mass at 9:00 PM on Sunday to welcome students as we begin the new academic year together.   Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.  Come sing and pray, come greet the Lord and meet new friends. Come to 9:00 PM Mass on Sunday, August 28, in Muller Chapel!

 

All first-year men and women are invited to the information meeting for Ithaca College Crew.   The meeting is Tuesday, August 30, in Textor Hall 102.  Women will meet at 6pm.  Men will meet at 7pm.  No previous rowing experience is necessary.  Rowing is a varsity sport that will challenge you and get you into the best shape of your life.

IC Students Can Move In Early

Because of Hurricane Irene and its possible effects along the East Coast of the United States, Ithaca College will allow new and returning students to begin moving into their campus residences early. Residence halls will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, one day earlier than previously scheduled for students. There is no need to seek approval for an early check-in, nor will there be any additional charge.

Beth Ellen Clark, associate professor and chair of the physics department at Ithaca College, has received a $2.7 million grant from NASA to support her participation in the first U.S. mission to bring samples of an asteroid back to the Earth for study and analysis.

Wellness Clinic Re-opens

The Wellness Clinic will re-open for the semester at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31. If you would like to become a member, go to our website  (http://www.ithaca.edu.hshp/clinics/wellness/)  and follow the "Join The Clinic" link. Fill out the health history form, which will automatically be e-mailed to us. We will get back in touch with you shortly.

Group Exercise classes will begin on Tuesday, September 6th (the Clinic is closed on September 5th in observance of Labor Day). All classes (except Pilates) are included free with your membership. To view our fall schedule, click on the link above to get to our website and select "Group Exercise." If you would like to ONLY participate in group exercise classes, we offer that type of membership as well. This semester we will be offering some great classes .

Stephen Tropiano, associate professor in the Department of Television-Radio, presented a paper at the University Film & Video Association (UFVA) Conference in Boston. His paper, entitled “The Ethics of Product Placement and Integration in Prime Time Television,” examined the strategies currently employed by television producers and advertisers to integrate products and brand names into prime time network television.
