We no longer will accept personal cash, check or credit card transactions at the Phillips Hall Post Office for outgoing FedEx or UPS shipments. Doing so would be a violation of our contract with the USPS. These transactions including estimates must be done at the Mail Center located in the General Services building.

The Athletic Training Program in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences was recently ranked first in top athletic training schools by Education-Portal.com.  The other two schools ranked in the top 3 included: 2. University of Texas at Austin; 3. Cal State University - Long Beach.  Congratulations to IC's Athletic Training Program and the faculty and staff of the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences.

ITS will begin the Oracle software upgrade to Parnassus Financials and Human Resources system and will be unavailable beginning on Wednesday, July 6th at 4:00pm. The software upgrade is expected to run through the weekend and should be available to the campus on Tuesday, July 12th.  Users will be notified when Parnassus is available via email to all Faculty and Staff and will also be posted as a Top Story in Intercom.

Chris Zivalich (Journalism '12) and Professor James Pfrehm (Department of Modern Languages and Literatures) presented their conference paper entitled "Assigning Enhanced Podcasts as Course Final Projects" at the annual conference for the International Association of Language Learning and Technology (IALLT) held at the university in Irvine, California from June 20th - 24th.

Mail Services and the Phillips Hall Post Office will resume accepting and processing mail destined for Canada.

Mail being held in the USPS network since the lockout began is now being released  and transported into Canada.  

Due to the large volumes of mail being held  by countries around the world during the lockout,  they may experience slightly longer transit times.  

The dates have been corrected on the webpage flier.

Lessons are available on weekdays and weekends.  You can find the schedule and sign up form at the Outdoor Pool webpage, or at the outdoor pool office.  The schedule is located in the green feature box on the right. Simply fill out the form and return it to the outdoor pool office with your payment.

The Working Parents Affinity Group (WPAG) provides different perspectives on integrating work and our families as working professionals. Associate Professor Jeff Holmes and Professor Barney Beins co-authored a chapter in the e-book Promoting Student Engagement: Volume 1: Programs, Techniques, and Opportunities. The chapter is entitled "Student Engagement in Undergraduate Research".  Barney Beins was one of the editors of the two-volume set.

 Rory Cooper, Class of 2012, will learn firsthand about the interrelationships between culture, communication, and the environment this fall.  He is bound for Chile through an affiliated program in the School of International Training.  Rory will complete a course called "Cultural Identity, Social Justice, and Community Development" while living among a small indigenous Mapuche community.

The Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jeffery Meyer, was one of 26 American orchestras to win a 2010–11 ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Award for Adventurous Programming. ASCAP and the League of American Orchestras present the award annually to orchestras of all sizes for programs that challenge their audiences, build their repertoires and increase interest in the music of our time.
