Well, join us this Wednesday for our first event about coffee workers in Ethiopia and the influence our love of cheap coffee has on their lives.

"After oil, coffee is the most actively traded commodity in the world with $80 billion in retail sales. But for every $3 cup of coffee, a coffee farmer receives only 3 cents. Most of the money goes to the middlemen, especially the four giant conglomerates which control the coffee market. Tracing the path of the coffee consumed each day to the farmers who produce the beans, Black Gold asks us to 'wake up and smell the coffee', to face the unjust conditions under which our favorite drink is produced and to decide what we can do about it."

BLACKVEIL, the fourth "Green Rider" novel by alumna Writing minor Kristen Britain, '87, will appear as #12 on THE NEW YORK TIMES Bestsellers List on Sunday, February 20. A longtime resident of Maine, Ms. Britain has several times visited her alma mater as a guest writer during the years of her writing her popular series of fantasy novels featuring a very strong female hero.

If you are a student and you need to drive a College owned/leased vehicle for any reason, you must complete a driver safety class.

The next driver safety class will be offered on Sunday, February 20th, 2011 from 2pm-4pm in Textor 102.

Students should review the student driver handbook before attending the class.

  The fourth monthly happy hour gathering for Fulbright alumni and current/ future Fulbrighters will take place at Northstar starting at 4 pm on Friday 2/25. Come celebrate the beginning of the weekend!
