Jack Powers, assistant professor in the Department of Television-Radio, was recently accepted as a National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) Faculty Fellow. Only 25 NATPE fellows are named across the United States each year.

The goal of the Faculty Fellowship Program is twofold: to expose the educational community to current television issues and practices, and to foster improved communication and cooperation between educators and the industry.

With the end of 2010 fast approaching, now is a good time to verify that the Office of Human Resources has your correct permanent address on file to ensure that your 2010 W2 is mailed to the correct address at the end of January.   To verify your address, log into Parnassus and then click on IC Employee Self-Service. From there click on Personal Information and scroll down to Main Address. If you need to update your address, just click on the update button to the right of the address.   All address changes must be made by December 31, 2010.

Ithaca softball coach Deb Pallozzi has been voted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame. Pallozzi will be one of just two members of the 2011 induction class, who will join the Hall of Fame at the 2011 NFCA Convention in Las Vegas. The announcement was made at the recently concluded 2010 NFCA Convention in San Diego.

Sacrament of Penance

The Sacrament of Penance (Confession) and Communal Reconciliation will be celebrated by the Catholic Community in Muller Chapel on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 12:40 PM and 8:40 PM.  Come join in this sacrament of forgiveness, healing and peace.  Celebrating the Sacrament of Penance is a wonderful, grace-filled way to prepare for the Nativity of the Lord, Christmas.

Chris Carlon ’11 and Amanda Roselli ’11 were selected for the 2011 Most Promising Minority Students Program sponsored by the American Advertising Association (AAF). Each year, fifty students are chosen nationwide to receive the honor.

AAF's Most Promising Minority Students Program is the premier advertising industry award program to recognize and recruit outstanding minority college graduates. The program not only honors the students, but also enhances their knowledge and understanding of the advertising industry by offering networking, interviewing, and industry immersion opportunities with industry professionals during a three-day event in New York City in February.
