Ithaca College’s recent initiative to integrate curriculum by involving students from different majors has sent four faculty members: Barbara Belyea, PT, Julie Dorsey, OT, Mary Pitti, SLP, and John Weber, RLS, along with 24 students, to explore and experience the cultures and healthcare systems of Columbia, Panama, Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire.

It's not too late to apply for Italy: Language and Culture for this summer...the deadline has been extended until March 10!  Spend three weeks this summer in Siena, a beautiful medieval hill town in the heart of Tuscany.  Italy: Language & Culture is a three-week, three-credit course which combines conversational Italian practice wtih a cultural tour of Siena and other historically important Italian cities.  The program runs from May 25-June 16, 2010.

The Rec Center (located on the first floor of the Campus Center (Phillips Hall), around the corner from the Food Court) is open Monday-Friday 12:00 noon – 10:30 pm.

The Ithaca men's basketball team (18-8) has been selected for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, to be hosted by Brockport Saturday and Sunday. The top-seeded Bombers will take on fourth seed Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (15-9) at 7 p.m. Saturday. Saturday's other semifinal will feature second seed Brockport (16-10) against third-seeded Hobart (17-10) at 4 p.m. The championship game will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.

 

The annual An Inside Look ALANA student recruitment program is a little less than a month away.  The program takes place from March 28-30.  

As of today, we have approximately 140 students registered and we need your assistance! We are still looking for additional students to volunteer to participate as a host.  Please keep in mind that if you would like to host, you must live on campus and you cannot reside in the Circle Apartments.  If you are interested, please contact Femi Ogundele at fogundele@ithaca.edu or Lee Bostic at lbostic@ithaca.edu as soon as possible.  Additionally, this is a great opportunity for community service.

Nancy Cornwell, professor and chair of the Television-Radio Department, recently spoke about a wide range of media topics including the Comcast-NBC merger, the future of broadcast television in the age of Hulu, NBC's handling of the Conan O'Brien show and more on WVBR-FM's, Sunday Forum, “The Future of the Media: Will the Superbowl Ever Be Broadcast on Cable?”

Integrated Marketing Communications Program Director, Professor Scott R. Hamula, will serve as the academic representative on the Radio Advertising Bureau's (RAB) Small Market Advisory Committee (SMAC). The committee plays a vital role in guiding RAB on the development and delivery of services and resources to its member constituents.  This group has greatly influenced many of the radio industry’s flagship resources and products developed to assist members in the sales and marketing of radio in all its forms, as well as RAB’s training and professional development strategies. 

The Ithaca women's basketball team (22-5) has received an NCAA playoff bid. The Bombers, who earned a Pool C at-large selection, will host a four-team regional at Ben Light Gymnasium Friday and Saturday.
