37 trombones on 1 stage? What could be better?!

IC Trombone Troupe will be presenting its fall recital on Thursday, November 12, at 8:15 p.m., in Ford Hall. A wide variety of music will be played, including a solo by guest Tim Smith. We have never had so many members before, so it is bound to be an exciting concert!

Students of Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland:

Officials from both colleges recently met to discuss the November 14 varsity football game being hosted this year at noon at Ithaca College. This year’s game is the 68th meeting of our varsity football teams vying, of course, for possession of the Cortaca Jug. We are all very proud of the accomplishments of both teams and believe that the game this year will once again be a great one.

As part of its emergency planning responsibilities, the Ithaca College Core Emergency Response Team (CERT) has developed a Pandemic Flu Plan. Though finalized during the current H1N1 flu pandemic, the plan is intended to help guide the college’s response to any pandemic situation. It can be read online at www.ithaca.edu/flu_plan.

Dr. William Tastle, Associate Professor of Management, has been named a Distinguished Fellow by the Association of Information Technology Professionals, Education Special Interest Group (AITP-EDSIG).  He is one of only 11 Fellows nationwide.

On Wednesday, November 11, at 6pm Heather Laurel of the music theory faculty will give a talk in the Iger Lecture Hall, room 2105 in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.  Laurel will focus on Ani DiFranco's most recent political songs demonstrating how DiFranco's recording techniques, in conjunction with her musical, lyrical, and performative choices, embody DiFranco's musical-political persona.  DiFranco will be appearing at the State Theatre on Friday, November 13 at 8pm.  www.stateofithaca.com

In conjunction with Saturday's game against Alfred, the Bomber football program is sponsoring a program to raise money for needed programs at the Bath VA Medical Center by collecting money through a free well offering at the end of the game. Members of the Ithaca Elks Lodge will be collecting the money for the football team.
