We will stay up all night to try and make a video game in 24 hours! No experience is necessary! The Ithaca Brass will present a free concert on Monday, November 9 at 7 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. The program spans the musical centuries from Sweelinck to Ravel to Andre Previn and Victor Ewald.

IC Trombone Troupe will be presenting its fall recital on Thursday, November 12 at 8:15pm, Ford Hall. A wide variety of music will be played, including a solo by guest Tim Smith. We have never had so many members before, so it is bound to be an exciting concert!

Three talented Ithaca College students were finalists in the 2009 Perialas Prize for Oratory. The event, sponsored by the Department of Speech Communication, awards a $500 prize to the top speaker. This year's topic was "Health Care: Right or Privilege?" The winner was Lindsey Stafford (center in photo), a senior IMC major, who argued cogently that access to health care is every citizen's right. Also impressing the listeners were runners-up Joyti Jiandani (on left in photo), a sophomore speech-language pathology major, and Ryan Bigler, senior speech communication major. Read more . . . This is the preeminent gathering of neuroscientists from around the world. Attendance at these meetings is approximately 31,000 individuals.
