Applications are now available for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellows Program, which offers graduating seniors and recent alumni the opportunity to serve as research assistants for senior associates working on a variety of projects. Junior Fellows work for one full year (August through July) immediately following their graduation from college. Positions are paid, offering a salary and full benefits package.

The Nathan L. Lewis Memorial Scholarship has been generously created by Robert S. Lewis and his family in honor and memory of his father, Nathan L. Lewis. This scholarship is for a student who has studied in a Jewish day school for a minimum of four years and a maximum of 12 years, and who has demonstrated financial need.

Accounting Professors Jeff Lippitt, Eric Lewis and Joanne Burress published an article on "The Use of Earnings Capitalization in the Valuation of Growing Firms," in the most recent issue of the Journal of Business Valuation and Economic Loss Analysis. This is a prestigious journal in its field.

 

The French horn duo "MirrorImage" --  Michelle Stebleton and Lisa Bontrager, with Tomoko Kamanaru at the piano -- will present a free concert on Tuesday, November 3 at 8:15 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall.  Works from their upcoming compact disc project, “Safari” will be featured, along with commissions for the ensemble by Paul Basler, Ray Chase, and Larry Lowe.  Also on the program are several opera arrangements by Ray Chase, which have been recorded on the ensemble’s recent compact disc release, “MirrorImage at the Opera,” on MSR Classics.

Violinist Susan Waterbury will present a free recital at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall at Ithaca College. Pianist Jeffery Meyer and narrator Mary Alice Dillman will collaborate. Besides the children’s classic “Ferdinand the Bull,” music of Ravel, Beethoven, and Lutoslawski is on the program.

Campus Road Signs

In keeping with Town of Ithaca regulations and to assist emergency response agencies, from our area, Ithaca College has formally named all roadways on campus and numbered each building. Street signs were recently installed and the building numbering should be completed in the near future.
