Nancy Rader, Professor of Psychology, delivered a paper on her infant language research at an international language conference held in July at the University of Toulouse, France.

 

The Center for Faculty Excellence announces a special 15-week opportunity for tenure-eligible faculty members preparing their file for the 4th (or midterm) review. Participants will set weekly goals and share progress with other members. They will be expected to share drafts of their narrative or organizational structure and to review the materials of at least one other participant.

The Ithaca College Symphonic Band will present a free concert on Thursday, October 8 at 8:15 pm in Ford Hall at Ithaca College.   Music of Saint-Saens, Vaughan Williams, Rogers, Bach, Chance, and Tucker will be conducted by Elizabeth Peterson.

The Ithaca College Concert Band will give a free concert entitled “Bloc Party” on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:15 pm in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.  Mark Fonder will conduct music about or from Russia and eastern Europe, including music by Kozhevnikov, Husa, Tschesnekov, Gulyas, Gliere, Cesarini, and Doss.

National Coming Out Day will be celebrated at Ithaca College with a performance by local poet and entrepreneur Michelle Courtney Berry. Her presentation on Thursday, October 8, is sponsored by the Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services. Scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Textor 101, it is free and open to the public.

As announced by President Tom Rochon, Ithaca College’s contribution to employees enrolled in the basic TIAA-CREF retirement plan has been restored to 8.75% retroactively to June 1, 2009. Employees will be able to view the increased and retroactive contributions in the October 15th (for salaried employees) and October 16th (for hourly employees) online payslips.
