The Ithaca College baseball team (29-11) has been chosen to host an NCAA regional tournament from Wednesday through Monday at Falcon Park in Auburn. The Bombers are the second seed for the eight-team tournament, and will play their first game Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. Ticket prices are $3 for general admission and $2 for students, senior citizens, and children under 12.

The departmental transaction window will close one hour earlier on Fridays (at 2:00 p.m.) due to summer hours, and will also be closed from noon to 12:30 p.m.

This early closure will be in effect May 23 through August 8.

The Jostens representative will be on campus May 16, 17, and 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day at the Bookstore.

Jostens is offering a free cap and gown with any ring purchased at that time.

Asma Barlas, program director at the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, gave the first Spinoza Lecture at the University of Amsterdam on May 8. The talk was entitled, "Believing Women in Islam: Between Secular and Religious Politics and Theology."

As we prepare for our 113th Commencement on Sunday, May 18, I would like to provide you with some information regarding the academic procession. The procession will form at 8:30 a.m. outside in the academic quad if it's nice weather, or inside the enclosed walkway beginning at Job Hall and extending through the Campus Center if it is raining.

Please see below for information on forming the academic procession if Commencement is indoors. The academic procession will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the Commencement ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. All guests will be encouraged to be seated by 9:00 a.m. The procession will be in the order noted below:

Eighteen students have been inducted into the Sigma Xi honor society for 2008. Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is the international honor society of research scientists and engineers; the Paulen A. Smith Chapter at Ithaca College was founded in 1966. The students were elected to membership because of their research achievements or potential.

This year's students have already done an amazing variety and quality of scientific research and we look forward to hearing of their future accomplishments.

On Friday, May 9, at about 10:00 a.m., a female resident of the West Tower reported to the Ithaca College Office of Public Safety that an unknown person had pointed a camera at her while she was in the shower.
