Tango de Camara with Daniel Binelli will present a free concert as part of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival on Wednesday, April 2, at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall.

Bandoneon player extraordinaire, composer and tango legend Daniel Binelli will perform with IC School of Music faculty members Steven Mauk (saxophone), Pablo Cohen (classical guitar), and Nicholas Walker (double bass) in this special tango concert, which affords a rare opportunity to hear tango in all its virtuosity, complexity, counterpoints, camouflages, and collaborations.

The Ithaca Wind Quintet will collaborate with mezzo-soprano Jennifer Kay and pianist Jairo Geronymo in an upcoming free concert on Thursday, April 3, at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Kay will be featured on Schafer's "Minnelider" and Geronymo on a sextet by Mignone.

The program will be rounded out by an arrangement of Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin" and a work entitled "Shout Chorus."

Under the artistic direction of Sally Lamb, IC's contemporary chamber ensemble, Kulmusik, will present a free concert at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, in Ford Hall. The ensemble, which performs music for small groups of musicians written in the recent past, will feature a composition that won its composition competition: "Simplicity," by graduate student Roy Magnuson.

IC Theatre presents six pieces of original choreography in "Dance: No Translation Needed." Dance professors Mary Corsaro, Amy Walker O'Brien, Elizabeth Livesay, and Lindsay Gilmour each choreograph unique stories using the language of movement and the traditions of tap, modern, ballet, and jazz.

One of the featured works is Gilmour's modern piece, "Nothing but the Sky," which honors 14 Tibetan nuns imprisoned in the late 1980s and early 1990s for peacefully demonstrating in Lhasa, Tibet, for the political and religious freedoms denied them since the Chinese government began occupation of Tibet over 40 years ago.

The deadline to apply as a Team Leader for one of the Jumpstart Programs has been extended to April 4th, 2008 at 5pm. We are looking for energetic, dynamic, dedicated, and involved students to serve as leaders for the Jumpstart programs. The programs provide an exciting opportunity for first year students to get a head start on their official transition to college. Be a leader for one of the following programs:
*Community Plunge – a service focused team based volunteer program
*ECHO – an outdoor camping and hiking adventure experience
*Lead-In – a high energy, interactive leadership development program
*NEW! Sustainable Community Challenge – an exploration of the local bio-region through touring and teamwork
