Ten days ago I met with President Williams in Philadelphia and learned that she will be retiring as the President of Ithaca College at the end of the 2007-8 academic year. Although saddened to think of Ithaca without her at the helm, I am thankful for her leadership and appreciate all that she has given Ithaca College and our community.

Colleges Against Cancer hopes everyone is having a great summer. Filled with sun and sunscreen (reapply, no sunscreen is waterproof!!)

Remember there is no such thing as a safe tan or base line tan. The best way to lower your risk of skin cancer is staying out of direct sunlight as much as possible.

Colleges Against Cancer is a American Cancer Society recognized club. CAC brings awareness and education to campuses nationwide through programs, ads, Relay for Life, and more.

Important News to Share

Dear Ithaca College Community Member,

I hope you are having a restful and productive summer. I want to share some important news with you.

A few days ago I met with Bill Schwab, chair of the IC board of trustees, to tell him of my plans to retire as President of IC effective May 31, 2008. I made this decision now because I believe that the timing is right for me, personally. After 36 years in higher education—19 of those as a president—it is time for me to close this chapter in my professional life and move on to the next.
