(197 words) *IC Chemistry Club visits the Sciencenter for “Spooky Science” show*Contributed by Maria Russell on 11/14/06 Student members of the Ithaca College Chemistry Club performed chemistry demonstrations as part of the “Spooky Science” program for kids held at the Sciencenter in downtown Ithaca on the evening of October 27. Demonstrations included “ghost in a bottle,” “exploding ethanol,” glow-in-the-dark solutions, foaming pumpkins, “ghost photo paper”, balloon shrinking with liquid nitrogen, and a “magic” potion that changes color. The two chemistry shows reached a combined audience of over 300 and was received with great enthusiasm. Ithaca College participants included Dan Cordaro, Alyssa de Villiers, Shawn Eady, Alicia Harper, Lauren Houdek, Erika Hughes, Pasquale Iancono, Keris KrennHrubec, Cole Lechleiter, Joseph Livingston, Melissa Martin, Colleen O’Loughlin, Michael Salvaggio, Josh Thomas, Nikki Wedgwood, and chemistry faculty member Scott Ulrich.
