Mildred García, president of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, told graduates at Ithaca College’s 124th Commencement ceremony that they have a profound responsibility to use the achievement of their degree to serve as a beacon of hope and opportunity for others. García delivered the main address to some 1,500 graduates at the ceremony on Sunday, May 19.

On 5/18, the theatre company Play for Voices presents a live listening session of their latest production, Friedrich Dürrenmatt's radio play “The Doppelgänger,” translated from German into English by Walter Byongsok Chon, Assistant Professor of Dramaturgy and Theatre Studies. The presentation will be at Be Electric Studios in Brooklyn at 7pm.

The following message is being shared on behalf of Dr. Timothy Carey, Associate Vice President for Facilities

I am saddened to inform the campus community of the May 14 passing of Mr. Timothy Baird, an employee in the Facilities Department.  Tim joined Ithaca College in 2012 and was a hard-working and dedicated employee whose work assignments were within the residence halls.  His colleagues already miss Tim’s work ethic, his “students first” approach and his infectious laugh – traits that he brought to Bogart Hall on a daily basis.  Tim sincerely cared about students and wanted them to have the best experience possible.  He leaves a positive legacy on the department and College.

 Celebrate the class of 2019 at Baccalaureate Mass! This Mass will take place this Saturday May 18 at 7 PM in the Hockett Recital Hall in the Music School. 

All seniors, their families, students still on campus, faculty and staff are welcome to attend! 

This will be the only Catholic Mass on campus on graduation weekend.

The on-campus Food Pantry will be open again on Friday, May 17th 4-5pm.

The Pantry is located in the DeMotte Room (you can enter using the entrance to Phillips Hall closest to the upper quads - near the stairs that go up to the academic quad). The Pantry is open to any and all members of the IC community. There are no qualifications for this program.

The CFE is pleased to announce that Dr. Belisa González is the recipient of the inaugural President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community. The award is given to a faculty member who embodies the vision and work of President Collado through an inclusive approach to educational practices of teaching, research, and leadership in the classroom, the campus, and the community. Belisa González has been working on making Ithaca College and our community a more equitable and inclusive place for all of us since her arrival on campus 12 years ago.  Please join us in congratulating Dr. González for receiving this timely and deserved recognition.

Zenon Wasyliw, professor Department of History, organized and chaired a panel that included two Ithaca College history alumni at the Association for the Study of Nationalities world convention held 2-4 May at Columbia University in New York City.

If you are graduating this May, there are changes to your Microsoft Office 365 account, including OneDrive, that you need to be aware of. These changes will take place within 30 days from commencement (May 19, 2019).

Under our license agreement with Microsoft, once you graduate the type of license that is assigned to your account changes from a "student" license to an "alumni" license. Under the alumni license you will no longer have access to the full Microsoft Office 365 subscription, however your IC email account will remain indefinitely.
