Shortly after 5:00 on Wednesday, 4/10, a phishing email message was sent to numerous IC email accounts, purportedly from an IC student, with the subject “Dog sitter needed.” The message asked recipients to respond to a Gmail address if interested in a job which would supposedly pay a significant amount of money for dog sitting. IT quickly blocked communication between the IC email system and the phishing Gmail address, and identified and notified the people who may have responded to the message. Read more . . . About this volume, poet Sharon Dolin writes: Modesty becomes a bravura performance in Cory Brown’s fourth book. From its title poem, Brown deftly sculpts his lines into almost imperceptible haiku stanzas, as the double meaning of “elision” as “absence” and “overlap” plays out over the course of the book. These poems bring to mind the folksy, meditative wisdom of an Ammons poem, where the natural world enters as lived experience and teacher. The haiku form is so malleable in Brown’s hands that he is capable of grappling with subjects as large as the meaning of life, time, death, even beauty and melancholia, as well as shaping it into more personal narratives. Elisions is a beautiful book in its depth and quiet majesty. Howard Kalman co-publishes 8th edition of Instructional Design TextbookContributed by Danae Lowman on 04/10/19 Dr. Howard K.
