Join us for a night of film, discussion, and food. Kids for Cash: the documentary explores the scandal that rocked Lucerne County, PA. No less than a two hour drive from Ithaca, NY, the documentary explores the case of two judge who where recieving compensation for sending minors to jail to increase occupancy at for-profit dentention centers. Over a thousand children were convicted of simple crimes. We will see the effect of incarceration on juveniles as well as the for-profit prison industry that dictates our criminal justice system. There will be a brief discussion after the documentary and light refreshments provided.

February 25-March 3 is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW), and the goal this year is to move toward inclusivity in the eating disorders community. Eating disorders affect more groups than traditionally recognized, and all individuals should have the opportunity to share their stories, recognize that their stories are valid and welcome, and pursue the treatment they need, whoever they are and wherever they are in their path to recovery.

Dr. Dyani Johns Taff, Lecturer in the Department of English, has published an essay in a new collection devoted to the study of women's travel in early modern literature and culture.  Her essay is entitled "Precarious Travail, Gender, and Narration in Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, and Margaret Cavendish's The Blazing World."  The collection, co-edited by Patricia Akhimie and Bernadette Andrea, is entitled Travel and Travail:  Early Modern Women, English Drama, and the Wider World.
