Study Abroad in China

 Interested in learning about rehabilitation, medicine, sport, or physical education in another culture? Interested in gaining perspective on performance training or health care systems in another country? Do you like to travel? 

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then then maybe a Study Abroad in China during Summer 2019 is for you!  Dr. Hongwei Guan and Dr. Mike Costello with lead students on a trip from May 20 to June 4 2019 to Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai

Informational sessions will be held on Thursday 10/11 from 5-6:30 pm AND  Tuesday 10/16 from 12-1 pm in CHS 207.  The Application Deadline will be December 14, 2018. For more information, contact Dr. Guan at hguan@ithaca.eduor Dr. Costello at  or mcostello@ithaca.edu.

Excited to share your pronouns? Unsure about what exactly a pronoun is, or why they matter?

International Pronouns Day is a holiday for both the enthused and the confused to share and learn more about pronouns. It seeks to make asking, sharing, and respecting personal pronouns commonplace. Celebrate with us! On this day the LGBT Center will sponsor a variety of events including:

9 - 10 am Staff and Faculty Pronoun Chat and Technical Assistance - get helpful tips, have your questions answered, and enjoy light breakfast fare. Come for the bagels, stay for the pronouns. In the LGBT Resource Room.

11- 1:30 pm Information Table - find resources on pronoun use, pick up pronoun buttons for yourself and your friends, and view the Proclamation by Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick recognizing International Pronouns Day. In Campus Center.

12 noon - 1 pm Decorate your own personal pronoun cookies. Share your pronouns (and eat them too)! In the Ithaca Falls Room.

It is my pleasure to invite faculty applications for the Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 semester of the London Sabbatical Program.  Applicants should be eligible for an approved and funded sabbatical from their School covering faculty salary either for the Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 semester.  The selected faculty members are expected to teach one course complementary to the London Center curriculum, interact with London Center instructors and students, and attend London Center faculty meetings. A course with an ICC designation is preferred.

The inaugural cohort of BOLD scholars will be introducing a new program — Engaging Mental Health in People of Color (EMPOC). The mission is to boldly challenge mental health stigmas, mainly through dialogue, that affect students of color.         

EMPOC will be holding its first event Oct. 11, 6–8 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge. The event, titled “BOLD Presents Engaging Mental Health in People of Color,” will be an interactive discussion facilitated by Tynesha Wright-Lindo, a local social worker.
