In this first issue --Nature and the City-- journalistic articles, art, creative nonfiction, science work, and fiction and poetry pieces explore the human/nature boundaries within urban and virtual space. The contributing undergraduates for the first issue are from all over -- Ithaca College, Virginia Tech, University of Washington–Seattle, and the University of London. Alluvian, while based in Ithaca, N.Y., prides itself in representing natural and environmental writing from undergraduate students everywhere. The phrase quoted in her title comes from the scene in Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde (II.82) in which Pandarus encounters Criseyde and two other women listening to the story of the siege of Thebes being read aloud. Join us at 10am – 1pm on Saturday October 22, 2016 in Taughannock Falls Room (on the 3rd floor of campus center, to the left of the SAC). If you have never been to a book mailing before, this would be a great event to come to! We have many letters and free bagels for everyone! IC BTB is a community service organization that sends books to prisoners throughout NY state and the country. We want to promote literacy rights despite people’s circumstances. Read more . . .
