Queer the Census!

Contributed by Doreen Hettich-Atkins on 06/22/20

Once a decade, America comes together to count every resident in the United States. Information from this count provides the basis for reapportioning congressional seats, redistricting, and distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to support states, counties and communities’ vital programs — impacting housing, education, transportation, employment, health care and public policy.

Remember that college students should be counted where they would have been living on April 1 if not for COVID (So - make sure you're counted in Ithaca!). If you have submitted for another location or your family included you in your count, please resubmit at 2020Census.gov to be counted in Ithaca!  On-campus students, your information has already been submitted, you don't need to go to be counted, but you can still participate in the fund social media events for this special event.

CenterLink and the National LGBTQ Task Force invite you to participate in a very special Census Week of Action during Pride Month.
