Americanese: Some love stories end with a good-bye.

The Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival opens today at 4:00pm in Textor 102 with a special screening of Americanese, adapted from the ground-breaking novel by Shawn Wong. A Q&A with special guest Shawn Wong will follow the screening.

CSCRE Professor Phuong Nguyen says:

"Throughout history, American society has limited who Asians were allowed to love, who could love Asians, and questioned the capacity of Asians to love—both themselves and each other. Wong's novel squashes all those myths and pokes fun at them simultaneously. We are proud to have Shawn Wong join us for the opening night of the Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival for a special screening of the film based on his novel American Knees. We hope you can join us, too."

Popcorn and other refreshments will be provided. Asia Night follows the screening, with more food and activities. Join us for this special event!
