Dear Campus Community: When the Return to Campus Task Force was officially launched on May 26, we committed to keeping the college community apprised of its progress through periodic updates. We are pleased to report that the task force is off to a quick start, focusing on the critical things that we must address across the campus before we can open in the fall. As the co-chairs of the task force steering committee, today we will discuss two important topics—the addition of a 10th subgroup, and further background and context around decisions related to the 2020-21 academic calendar. Read more . . . (1404 words) After 17 years of dedicated and spirited service to Ithaca College, Chief Analytics Officer Dr. Yuko Mulugetta is retiring at the end of June. Dr. Mulugetta taught in the School of Communications (not Business, as stated in an earlier version of this post) in 1984, then returned to IC in 2003 as Institutional Research's Analytical Statistician. She went on to serve as IC's Director of Enrollment Planning, then in 2016 was hired as the college's first Chief Analytics Officer, transforming the former offices of Enrollment Planning and Institutional Research into Analytics and Institutional Research. A Zoom shindig to celebrate her work and general wonderfulness is being held June 30th from 4 to 5 p.m. If you aren't a member of the Marketing and Enrollment Strategy team and would like to attend, please email cborch@ithaca.edu and I'll add you to the Zoom meeting. (242 words) The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival and Cinemapolis partner for FREE screenings of Idrissou Mora-Kpai’s new documentary feature AMERICA STREETContributed by Patricia Zimmermann on 06/07/20 The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival is partnering with Cinemapolis to offer a week of FREE virtual screenings of America Street, a new documentary film by Idrissou Mora-Kpai, Assistant Professor, Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies at Ithaca College. In solidarity with the latest movement of social protest for racial justice and #BlackLivesMatter, the director is providing free access to the film, shot five years ago in Charleston in the wake of the Walter Scott killing. America Street is a 2019 release and was scheduled for its upstate New York premiere at the 23rd Annual Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival The film focuses on Charleston, South Carolina.
