The Roy H. Park School of Communications will honor Journalist Barbara Walters with the Jessica Savitch Award of Distinction for Excellence in Journalism on Friday, March 18 in New York City. David Muir ’95 will present the award to Walters.

As noted in a recent intercom announcement, Ithaca College’s Task Force on Meals & Entertainment has developed a proposed policy on the utilization of Ithaca College funds for meals, receptions, alcohol, etc. in order to help us be more purposeful, efficient, and equitable about how we spend on food and under what circumstances. Representatives of the Task Force and the IEBC solicited feedback from Student Government Association, Faculty Council, Staff Council and from those who attended the campus-wide open session on March 3.

Paula Ioanide, associate professor of comparative race and ethnicity studies, was honored to present on the emotional politics of racism with sociologists Rayshaw Ray of Univ. of Maryland and Eduardo Bonilla-Silva of Duke University in February. The symposium, titled "Know Justice, Know Peace," was organized by David Ikard, Professor of Africana Studies at University of Miami. A video of the symposium may be viewed here.

 Join IC PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) for the 15th annual Swish For Make-A-Wish basketball tournament on Saturday, April 16th from 10:00am-4:00pm in the Fitness Center. This annual 5 v. 5 basketball tournament raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York. Last year, we raised over $2,000 and had over 250 student participants. This year we plan to raise $2,500 and need your help!
