The Spring 2016 Student Organization Fair is Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 10am-3pm in Campus Center Quad. There will be over 150 student organizations promoting events, recruiting members, and showcasing their student organization. The student organization is free to attend. Take this opportunity to network with student leaders, find your passion and sign up for so many amazing student organizations. 

All recognized and new student organizations are able to sign up. Deadline to sign up is January 27 by 5pm.

*Please note OSEMA Recognized and Recreational Sport Clubs have top priority.

Dear Ithaca College Community,

Today, Tom Rochon announced his retirement at the end of the 2016-17 academic year, marking nearly a decade of leadership of the college.

One of the hallmarks of Tom’s presidency has been his deep commitment to Ithaca College. As Tom has pondered the appropriate timing for retirement, he and the Executive Committee of the board have discussed the importance of succession planning to ensure we have an orderly process to select a new president. With Tom’s announcement, it is time to set that process in motion.

After much reflection over the winter break, I have decided to retire from the Ithaca College presidency effective July 1, 2017, following the 2016–2017 academic year. This timing will enable the board of trustees the necessary time to organize and execute a thoughtful and comprehensive search for my successor.

Jessye Cohen-Filipic and Barney Beins led an invited workshop at the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology on writing in the psychology curriculum. The workshop highlighted the program of systematic writing in the Ithaca College's psychology curriculum.

Each year, two students with majors in the Roy H. Park School of Communications or politics are selected as recipients of the Reginald Simmons '75 Memorial Award. The award allows students to participate in Operation Crossroads Africa (OCA), America's premier cross-cultural exchange program designed to promote understanding of Africa and its culture.

Deadline for applications is Monday, February 1, 2016.

The Ithaca College Student Government Association will be hosting Elect Her – Campus Women Win on February 21, 2016. The American Association of University Women as well as an organization called Running Start sponsors this program to encourage young women to run for student government on their campuses.

Dining Services' Administrative Offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 13th for an all-employee meeting. Admin operations will resume at 9:00 AM on Thursday, January 14th.

 The club Ithaca College Unites For HER has participated in fundraising efforts to provide a grant to any student, faculty or immediate family member of theirs affected by breast cancer. This grant is to help pay for integrative, complementary therapies to help those who are going through or have gone through breast cancer treatment. These therapies include acupuncture, yoga classes, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling among others. Microsoft has stopped supporting and providing security updates for all versions of Internet Explorer below IE11 as of January 12, 2016. In addition, for services such as the Office 365/Outlook Web App, Microsoft states "You should expect the quality of the user experience to diminish over time, and that many new Office 365 experiences might not work at all with versions below IE11".
