The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Ithaca and surrounding areas in effect until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15. A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms producing tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Those living in watch areas are advised to monitor weather reports for a possible upgrade to a Tornado Warning, which means that a tornado is indicated by radar or sighted by trained storm spotters.

(CBI), Broadcast Education Association (BEA), Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), New York State Broadcasters Association (NYSBA) and Syracuse Press Club. Due to public health concerns, the associated award ceremonies were canceled or postponed to a future date to be announced.

Draft legislation is anticipated to emerge within the next couple of weeks. As every sector of our country continues to experience the harsh economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, higher education institutions and their host communities are among those facing devastating financial challenges.
