Read more . . . (518 words) The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Ithaca and surrounding areas in effect until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15. A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms producing tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Those living in watch areas are advised to monitor weather reports for a possible upgrade to a Tornado Warning, which means that a tornado is indicated by radar or sighted by trained storm spotters.

Even though Ithaca College seniors were scattered far from campus for this year’s graduation, that didn’t mean that the more than 1,300 members of the Ithaca College Class of 2020 couldn’t celebrate and be celebrated on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

During the 2019-2020 academic year, Ithaca College's student radio and television stations were recognized for outstanding programming, news and sports coverage by the College Broadcasters Inc. (CBI), Broadcast Education Association (BEA), Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), New York State Broadcasters Association (NYSBA) and Syracuse Press Club. Due to public health concerns, the associated award ceremonies were canceled or postponed to a future date to be announced.
TVR320: Topics in Media Technology: The Seduction and Surveillance of New Media (ICC WI and ICC DV) CRN# 10051, focuses on how new media (mobile, social, web, etc.) has led to some unanticipated outcomes that affect our personal life experience in both utopic and dystopic ways. We will also focus on how digital media has impacted the construction of individual and group identities, challenged inequality, and given a voice to people and populations that have been systematically marginalized.
