The November installment of the Dollars and $ense Discussion Series will take place on Tuesday, November 17th.  This time, your colleagues from Digital Instruction and Information Services (DIIS) will take the lead and present on various topics, including their recent reorganization.

Alternative Spring Break offers students the opportunity to volunteer at one of five locations in the eastern United States during spring break, March 12 - 20.

There will be an information session for students who would like to learn more about the five ASB locations for March 2016. Students can come to the session to learn about the trips, and why this program is a great way to spend spring break!

Conflict is a universal and routine human experience. We more or less successfully engage it every day of our lives. Once in a while, however, it sticks and we get stuck! This highly engaging and interactive three hour workshop explores the experience of conflict and its effects on us as individuals and our interactions with others. We then explore and experiment with some key skills and strategies we can all use to shift negative conflict interaction both for ourselves and for others.

On Thursday, November 12 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM there will be an outage of the campus voice mail system due to maintenance. This will not impact telephone dial tone and general telephone use. The campus Emergency Notification System will continue to function during the voice mail maintenance. Any callers who would reach the voice mail system during this period will receive a recording stating maintenance is ongoing and to call back after 8:00 PM.

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the Latin American Studies Program at Ithaca College are co-sponsoring a free screening of the film "Polvo" (Guatemala, 2012) on Tuesday Nov. 10th at 4pm in Friends 308. This film is part of the LAS series on Central America. Feel free to join us and please spread the word.

Synopsis: "Juan is obsessed by the death of his father, who was “disappeared” by the Guatemalan military during the country’s civil war. He knows who his father’s informant was, and engages in petty acts of revenge against this man. When a filmmaker arrives in the village to make a documentary about the search for remains of the disappeared, Juan and his mother Delfina are given a chance at achieving some sort of resolution, in this sometimes painful, yet tender testament to the act of not forgetting."
