Daniel Lezcano Arguella grows organic shade grown coffee on lands immediately adjacent to Amistad International Park, an area that holds 2-1/2 per cent of the world’s biodiversity. Organic bananas provide the shade for his coffee plants, creating a polyculture which supplies the ASPROLA community organization, who then process the coffee and bananas, and make yoghurts and jams and run an ecotourism operation as well.

The Advocacy Center of Tompkins County and the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management are collaborating to bring the sexual assault prevention program “Bringing in the Bystander” to Ithaca College. Bringing in the Bystander is a sexual assault prevention program designed to give students the skills to recognize and intervene in potential situations before an assault or domestic violence can occur. The program also provides an overview of the definitions of sexual assault and affirmative consent. Our goal is to teach students how to intervene and diffuse situations and to inform students of the resources that are available to them on and off campus.

How can you help and get involved?
