NEW! DIVERSITY DESIGNATION for INTRODUCTION TO FILM AESTHETICS AND ANALYSIS for FALL 2020Contributed by Patricia Zimmermann on 09/10/20
It is now open to all students on campus. The course runs ONLY in the Fall semester. Those students seeking courses to fulfill the ICC Diversity requirement should register for seats now. The course is team taught with faculty with different national cinema and mode/genre specializations. Introduction to Film Aesthetics and Analysis provides a survey of multicultural and international cinemas from 1895 to 2020. It trains students in how to actively "read" a film rather than to passively "consume" a movie. The course focuses on the aesthetics, history, economics, industry, and politics of multiple forms of cinema across narrative, documentary, and experimental modes. Read more . . . (73 words)

In a collaborative partnership with Hillel, student financial services, and dining and auxiliary services, swipe out hunger will be launching again when students return to campus this spring. Students can donate up to two Guest meal swipes per semester, completely anonymously. Donated Swipes are pooled and reallocated through student financial services. Students who utilize the program receive packages of 15 Guest meal passes automatically uploaded onto their student ID cards, whether or not they have a meal plan. This can be “reloaded” as many times as a student needs. These guest meal passes can be used at any dining facility on campus where the meal plan is accepted. Swipe Out Hunger was started on Ithaca College’s campus in 2018 by Hillel Intern Unagh Frank, and to date it has collected more than 3000 meals. To volunteer or to utilize the program and receive guest meal passes email: lgoldberg2@ithaca.edu You can also find the donation form at linktr.ee/ichillel
