TVR 33500-01 ELECTRONIC MEDIA CRITICISM (CRN# 10088) is a three-credit ONLINE media studies course on the representation of race, gender, gender identity, and sexuality in classical and contemporary American TV programming. Open to all majors. (You can use your three free credits!)

The Exploratory Program seeks students—current explorers and past explorers—willing to be share about their academic and co-curricular experiences in the IC Exploratory Program.

If you are a current or past explorer with interest in participating either in front of or behind the camera, contact Elizabeth McCann (emccann@ithaca.edu) directly with a copy to exploratory@ithaca.edu by April 19th. In your email, please provide your name, date you will be graduating, major/minor (or intended majors/minors), and briefly describe your area or areas of talent.

Expertise in and enthusiasm for acting, video production, editing, and marketing will be hugely appreciated. Volunteers who give five or more hours of their time will receive small tokens of thanks for their participation in projects. 

Learn how to save the life of someone who has overdosed on an opioid such as Oxycontin, Vicodin or heroin. Participants will gain knowledge of harm reduction principles, symptoms of overdose, how to administer naloxone (Narcan) to an opioid overdose victim, and the naloxone access initiative at Ithaca College. 

Hosted by the Center for Health Promotion, in partnership with Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP).

TVR320: Topics in Media Technology: The Seduction and Surveillance of New Media (ICC WI and ICC DV) CRN 10089, focuses on how new media (mobile, social, web, etc.) has led to some unanticipated outcomes that affect our personal life experience in both utopic and dystopic ways. We will also focus on how digital media has impacted the construction of individual and group identities, challenged inequality, and given a voice to people and populations that have been systematically marginalized. The class is online asynchronous and runs from 5/17 - 5/28.
