The Ithaca College chapter of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association hosted its annual conference on campus last weekend. This year's conference was titled "Counseling Skills for SLPs: Unleash your Full Potential as a Clinician" and the special presenter was Dr. Hope Reed, an Associate Professor in the Communicative Sciences and Disorders Program at Alabama A&M University. 

The conference was sponsored by the Ithaca College chapter of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association, the SUNY Cortland Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association, and the Central New York Area Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Tina Caswell, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, was the featured presenter at a seminar hosted by Upstate Cerebral Palsy at The Holiday Inn - New Hartford on April 10. The title of Caswell's presentation was "Creating Competent Communicators: Let’s Talk! Utilizing Assistive Technology to Support Individuals with Complex Communication Needs."

Mark your calendars - On Friday, April 24th at 6pm, Liberty in North Korea will be visiting Ithaca College, hosted by the International Club! The event will be held in BUS 101.

The Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Michael Taylor for the 2015-2016 academic year. Dr. Taylor received a Ph.D. from Syracuse University in the Social Science Program and B.A, M.A. from SUNY Buffalo in Native American Studies. He specializes in Native American Studies and Anthropology, and in 2013 published his book, Contesting Constructed Indian-ness: The Intersection of the Frontier, Masculinity, and Whiteness in Native American Mascot Representations  (Lexington Books).
