Parnassus ("core apps") users wishing to upgrade to Office 2013 on their college-owned Windows computer may now do so. When Office 2013 was first announced to campus in May 2014, Parnassus core apps users were advised not to upgrade due to potential incompatibility issues.

IC Beatbox, a new student organization, is looking for an official adviser. Our mission is to teach the Ithaca College community the art of beatboxing.  Beatboxing is making percussion noises using only the mouth and throat muscles. PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America), AMA (American Marketing Association), WIC (Women in Communications), AAF (American Advertising Federation) and IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) co-sponsored the 3rd Annual Internship Panel on Wednesday, October 9th in the Park Auditorium. Ten students shared their most recent internship experiences and provided advice to students who are applying to their first internships. IC alumn and Campus Programs Manager for the Intern Queen, Shayna Dunitz moderated the panel. Congratulations to PRSSA, WIC, AAF, AMA and IABC!

African-Latino Society teamed with PODER and the Student Activities to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Tuesday October, 29th in IC Square. The event was a great success and allowed students to learned about Mexican culture. Students decorated sugar skulls, enjoyed a catered Mexican dinner and danced to festive music. Congrats to African-Latino Society, PODER and the Student Activities Board for putting on a successful event!

IC Players is a completely student-run theatre organization on campus designed specifically to give members of the Ithaca College community theatrical opportunities and a space to grow both professionally and creatively.

The November installment of Vice President Hector’s “Dollars and $ense” discussion series will take place on Thursday, November 13, 9:00 – 10:00 am, in the Ithaca Falls Room.  Faculty and staff are invited to attend for an update on and engage in discussion around this month’s topic, Strategic Sourcing.

ITS will be broadcasting the Sakai Virtual Conference in the CET (Job Hall 102) all day on Friday, November 7th. Anyone is welcome to join us. It will have an emphasis on pedagogy and best practices. * short courses on systems thinking, synthesizing expertise, creativity, and character

* active hands-on learning; no lectures

* lots of fun

* the courses will help you make connections among what you are studying in different courses inside and outside your majors

* this can make learning more lasting and more useful in meeting complex real-world challenges

* courses are one credit and are graded pass/fail
