  Here is your chance to make a difference and enjoy a little travel during your fall break!

Students are encouraged to make a difference during Fall Break! Meet new people and do a bit of traveling for next to nothing!

This October, the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs will be hosting two Fall Break service trips for Ithaca College students!

The trips include:

Sky Meadow State Park (Delaplane, VA)

6 students will be heading to Sky Meadow State Park  to work with Virginia Parks and Recreation on some trail building and maintance! This is an excellent opportunity to spend your fall break exploring a new area, building new experience, meeting new people, or completing a community service requirement. 

The cost of the Sky Meadow trip will be $80.00 USD for all non-driver participants.

On behalf of the Center for Health Promotion and the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, I am very pleased to announce that Jacquii Unger, Public and Community Health '16, has been selected as Campus Correspondent of the Month by Student Health 101 e-magazine for the September issue!

The award was announced in the Campus Correspondent Newsletter, released today.

Jacquii is the student intern in the Center for Health Promotion where she serves as the Campus Correspondent for our Student Health 101 wellness e-magazine. In this role, Jacquii produces the Campus Correspondent page of the magazine each month. She selects and researches a student wellness topic, develops interview questions, and roams the campus interviewing students on video regarding their healthy behaviors. Jacquii also produces an Intro Video in which she discusses that month's topic on camera.

Political Discussion - Oct. 9th

Want to know what the IC Conservatives value? Interested in learning what the IC Greens stand for? Want to learn more about the Democrats? Come to the political discussion, co-hosted by the IC Greens, IC Conservatives, and IC Democrats, to get to know each group better, and find out what they have in common as well as how they're different. Individuals will also be present who can help you register to vote in New York State or in your home state! Thursday, Oct. 9th, at 6pm in Textor 101.

This is also an FYRE Power and Justice event.

The IC Greens are proud to present their first film screening. The movie to be shown is called Bringing it Home, which is a documentary about the pros and cons of legalizing the growth of industrial hemp in the United States, and what majorly beneficial environmental impacts it could have. Admission is free and open to all students! We seat students on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to get there early! It will be shown in Textor 102 on Saturday, Oct. 4th, 2014 at 4pm.
