Dear Ithaca College Community,

I know that some people have expressed concerns and are asking questions regarding the positive coronavirus cases that have been identified within the Ithaca College community. As the medical director of the college’s Hammond Health Center, I wanted to reach out to help give you a greater understanding about the medical and public health practices surrounding COVID-19 case tracking and reporting.

The Campus Life Awards are given each year to a select group of up to 10 graduating seniors to recognize their outstanding contributions to the Ithaca College community through participation and involvement in campus life.

Ithaca College is inviting applications from current students who are interested in serving a two-year term as the next Student Trustee. The term begins in May 2020 and runs until May 2022. Due to current changes to the college schedule, the search committee is extending the deadline to apply to Sunday, March 29.

Dear Campus Community,

I am writing to you once more with great sadness to inform you that another member of our campus community has tested positive for the coronavirus, COVID-19. The Tompkins County Health Department let us know this news today, and shared that this person has been at home in isolation since samples were collected for testing on March 11. Public health nurses are currently conducting a contact investigation to determine if there were any additional exposures.

Out of care for the IC community, the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life has decided to close Muller Chapel effective immediately. No access will be provided to the Gathering Hall, the Phillips Room, the Meditation Room, or the Interfaith Meeting Room. Updates will be shared at a later time.

Remember to breathe and stay connected. We will continue to provide updates on opportunities to gather virtually. Finally, recent campus guest Rabbi Emily Cohen wrote a great piece called, "A Rabbi's Cure for Coronavirus Anxiety." Rabbi Emily offers seven tips for this moment in the world.  As the situation surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact continues to evolve, Ithaca College Dining Services and The Pantry are joining forces to ensure continued food stability for our campus community.

Students, faculty and staff can continue to access The Pantry (the on-campus food pantry) during open hours on Thursdays from 1pm – 3pm during the period of remote instruction.  Those unable to access the pantry during those times, can request access from any IC Dining staff member during their regular business hours as noted below and the IC Dining staff member will enable them to get access to The Pantry to get what they need.

All Ithaca College indoor athletic facilities on campus will be closed for recreational use until further notice. No access will be granted to Ben Light Gymnasium in Hill Center, the fitness center and the Athletics and Events Center.

The Fall Funding Process is SGC's way to counter the delay in funding at the beginning of the fall semester. Organizations are given the ability to submit budgets for the fall semester during this time to get funding for their programs, trips, and operational expenses for Block I.
