Beginning 3/28Contributed by Kathy Farley on 03/12/20 The women’s swimming and diving team will be offering their annual Spring Swim Lessons. Whether you or your child wants to continue growing in the pool after the summer months with the ability to work on refining strokes, turns, starts or diving; the swimming & diving team is here to help. We invite all different ages and skill abilities to participate. A member of the team will teach participants in either a private lesson or in a group of two. We are offering 30 minute lessons; or for a person older than 5 and of a lap swimming level he/she may sign up 2 consecutive sessions (hour long lesson). The sessions are 10:00-10:30, 10:45-11:15, 11:30-12:00. This session we will not be holding a make-up lesson date…. there will be no opportunities to do make-up lessons. (811 words) The staff trustee position on the Board of Trustees, currently held by Sybil Conrad, is up for re-election at the May 2020 board meeting for a four-year term beginning June 1, 2020. Applications are being accepted through Monday, March 23rd at 11:59pm. Interested staff members should submit a letter of interest along with a resume to the Staff Council Executive Committee at staffcouncil@ithaca.edu. The Staff Council Executive Committee will select three individuals from this pool to be forwarded to the Board for their decision regarding the one position. At its May 2020 meeting the Board will elect the next Staff Trustee, whose four-year term will begin on June 1, 2020. Read more . . . All FLEFF events on the Ithaca College campus as well as at Cinemapolis for FLEFF 2020 are CANCELLED. Ithaca College senior leadership has made the decision to cancel all large events in an effort to support public health in this time of coronavirus crisis. We thank all of our FLEFF programming and curatorial team, faculty collaborators and presenters, administrators, support staff, distributors, Ithaca community partners, international archives, out-of-town guest artists from so many disciplines, bloggers, mini-course professors, festival fellows, Cinemapolis, and our students for all of their dedication and commitment to FLEFF over the past year. Students enter the program during their first year at Ithaca College and take on new leadership challenges every semester until they graduate. Components of the program include service projects, professional development, and active involvement in student organizations that is recorded in leadership portfolios, which are presented to administrators and peers every semester.
