“Meet your Meat!” SLI Credit and Food Demo - Tuesday, 4/22Contributed by Rachel O'Campo on 04/17/14 Come to Food Lab at Terrace Dining Hall on April 22nd at 2:30PM! Space is limited, so please REGISTER HERE! Students will learn about the "farm to fork" local food process and why is it a more sustainable alternative to traditional, mass-produced and "factory farmed" meat. Guest speaker, Dan Purdy, from local vendor, Purdy and Sons, will present about how produce the sustainable, ethical and high quality products they offer Ithaca College Dining Services. Dining Services’ Executive Chef, JJ Molina, will demonstrate how porchetta is made and those in attendance will enjoy a delicious snack!

She will discuss “Organized Abandonment and the Infrastructure of Feeling” at 7 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall. Her talk is free and open to the public. Gilmore is a professor of geography and director of the Center for Place, Culture, and Politics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Meyer and Vaillancourt were guest judges for the UMCK 2014 Composition Contest, choosing two works to be premiered by the duo. During their residency they will work with emerging student composers, give masterclasses on their respective instruments, and participate in various ensemble coachings, private lessons and classes.
