Kristen Van Hooreweghe, who holds a Master’s in Environmental Sociology from the University of Tennessee, and a PhD in Sociology from the City University of New York, will be presenting a lecture and teaching demonstration on Monday 24 February from 12:10 to 1:00 pm in Williams 225. Her teaching/research interests center on environmental sociology and the use of ethnographic tools to research human-nature relationships.

The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute Distinguished Speaker Series welcomes Lucia McBee on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Emerson Suites, Phillips Hall for a presentation entitled, Mindfulness-Based Elder Care: A Model for Health Care Workers and Caregivers.
1. IT IS A SILENT KILLER
Many people find it difficult to express their skills and qualifications to employers whether it's during a job fair, interview, or networking situations. At this workshop we'll discuss the importance of identifying the skills you gain outside the classroom through involvement in clubs/organizations, on campus jobs, athletics, and internships and how you can explain what you learn from these experiences.
Arturo Sinclair (Television and Radio) uses Socrative, a mobile, real-time student response system, on his classes. He will share his experiences with what works for him and his students. Participants should bring a laptop or mobile device and be ready to discuss.

After the American Studies Association (ASA) declared its support in December for an international boycott of Israeli academic institutions, President Tom Rochon and other academic executives across the country hastened to condemn the ASA's action and the boycott.
