If you elected coverage under the Aetna POS II plan for 2014 you will be receiving a new Aetna ID card due to the change in the copay structure under the POS II.  Aetna’s goal is that all POS II members will receive an updated ID card prior to January 1, 2014.   Please be sure to replace your existing card with the new card you will be receiving and present your new card to healthcare provider in the New Year.

Patricia Zimmermann, professor of screen studies and codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, was an invited speaker at the Asian Video Cultures symposium at Brown University, October 25 and 26, 2013.

Her lecture was entitled “EngageMedia: The Gado Gado Tactics of New Social Media in Indonesia.” Her presentation explored the implications of new forms of social media and engagement in conflicts zones around environmental and political issues in Indonesia, proposing a theory of permeable, migrating media practices produced in collaborative engagements.

The 2014 MLK Campus-Wide Celebration Planning Committee is excited to announce Librada Paz as our keynote speaker for this year's MLK Day celebration. She will speak at our main celebration event on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 4:00pm in Emerson Suites, part of the 2014 celebration with the theme "A Single Garment of Destiny."

Historically, when people on campus heard the words “risk management,” their thoughts would immediately go to that small and dreaded office in Job Hall where the college’s insurance program was administered. However, over the past four years the college has adopted an enterprise risk management program that touches every area of the campus and has heightened the understanding that managing risk is more than just the job of one person.

As of Dec. 31, the New York State Department of Labor will apply an incremental increase to the current minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, raising it to $8.00 per hour, effective December 31, 2013.  The minimum wage will continue to increase to $8.75 in 2014 and to $9.00 in 2015.

Because of the College's holiday break, timecards for the pay period December 16-December 29 must be submitted and approved by Thursday, December 19th.  Payment for this timecard will be on Friday, January 3, 2014.
