Last year Prof. Steve Gordon created an assignment for his Program Development class -- package the Golden Doorknob films for distribution. A student team led by Ben Ratner ’14, who is also the producer of the webseries, pitched a concept about a doorknob that goes on trial of murder with select Golden Doorknob films used as evidence in the case.

I am delighted to announce that the Middle States Commission on Higher Education has formally accepted Ithaca College's most recent report, the Periodic Review Report (PRR) we submitted in June 2013. Acting at their November 21st meeting, the Commission also reaffirmed our accreditation, and gave us a commendation for the quality of our PRR process. This is a wonderful achievement, and a major step in maintaining a positive ongoing relationship with Middle States, our regional accrediting agency.

The Periodic Review Report documented our performance over the past five years in meeting regional accreditation standards related to assessment, planning and budgeting. The PRR also documented progress on recommendations resulting from our 2008 self-study and Middle States team visit. These recommendations asked us to take action in five particular areas: institutional effectiveness, college-wide assessment processes, general education curriculum, administrative support of assessment, and student learning outcomes assessment.
