Walkin' the Country comes to IC this Friday in support of The Backpack Program!Contributed by Rachel O'Campo on 09/11/13 Did you know that a $3 donation fills a backpack with nutritious food to feed one child in Tompkins County? Chris Allinger of 103.7 Q Country has embarked on a week long, 100 mile trek across Tompkins County to collect donations for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier's Back Pack Program. Sodexo/Ithaca Dining Services, a proud supporter of The Food Bank of the Southern Tier's Backpack program, would like to welcome Chris to Ithaca College. Starting Wednesday, retail dining locations (Food Court, La Vincita, Grand Central, Tower Club Lounge, CHS Café, Business School Café, and Park School Café) will be accepting donations at the registers. We will continue to accept donations beyond Chris' visit and present a check to The Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Show your support and feed a hungry child! Stop by IC Square at 3 PM this Friday to welcome Chris on the final leg of his journey. His destination will be Wegmans at 5 PM. Read more . . . Accompanied by pianist Siu Yan Luk, Walker's program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the conservatory's Clinton B. Ford Auditorium. A Trumansburg resident, Walker hopes to spread awareness of the conservatory's final stages of fundraising to help pay for the historic building's much needed repairs. Read more . . .
