Mail delivery procedure for Summer Employees and Summer Session StudentsContributed by Karen Serbonich on 05/13/13 If you are planning to work and live on campus this summer and are not registered in a Circle Apartment you must fill out the orange "Hold at Phillips Hall P.O." card and take it to the Registrar's office to receive mail on campus during the summer. This card is effective beginning Monday May 13 and ends on Friday August 16th. After August 16th mail is processed to the current on-campus, local or permanent address on file. This card is available at the Phillips Hall Post Office, the Mail Center and Emerson Hall during check in. Fill it out now and be all set when May 14th rolls around. Read more . . . (151 words) Patricia Zimmermann Honored with Park School Faculty Writing AwardContributed by Melissa Gattine on 05/10/13 Patricia Zimmermann was recently named the recipient of the Park School Faculty Writing Award for her essay, "Humanist and Poetic Activism: The Rob Flaherty Film Seminar in the 1950s." Zimmerman, professor of screen studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, was selected unanimously by a judging panel consisting of Park School faculty whose professional expertise represent scholarly writing, journalism, and screen/scriptwriting. According to the judges, Zimmermann's work "represents a culmination of multiple years of solid scholarship and examines an area of cinema history that gave birth to the early independent film festivals that has rarely been explored." The essay was published by University of St. Andrews Press (2012). Joseph Killeen '13 and Ethan Burnette '13 Receive Park School Student Writing AwardContributed by Melissa Gattine on 05/10/13 Seniors Joseph Killeen and Ethan Burnette are this year's recipients of the Park School Student Writing Award. A panel of Park School faculty whose professional expertise represent scholarly writing, journalism, and screen/scriptwriting reviewed the nominations and selected the winners. The committee unanimously agreed to split the award between Killeen, author of the short script, LOVESICK, and Burnette, author of a full-length screenplay, SYNAPSE. Read more . . . Each session will provide a one hour overview of the Integrated Core Curriculum, the themes and perspectives, and the First-Year Residential Experience Program. The presentation will give you the information you need to know in order to answer parents/students’ questions and begin to plan for the fall.
