 Imprint Magazine is Ithaca College's online-only college lifestyle magazine. We currently have three open editorial board positions for Fall 2013: Chief Copy Editor, Photo Editor and Arts and Entertainment Editor.   • Videographer to help produce a 2-3 minute video
  • Blogger, experienced in Wordpress, to consult for 1-2 hours total

 IC Free the Slaves invites you to 27 Million Bound: Unbinding Modern-Day Slavery, a one-day conference on human trafficking on Saturday, April 20. During the afternoon, we'll have interactive learning sessions and conversations with anti-slavery activists, including a survivor of human trafficking and founder of anti-slavery organization in Ghana. In the evening, our keynote lecturer Shamere McKenzie will share her story as an activist and survivor of sex slavery.

 The Ithacan has been named a finalist for the Online Pacemaker Award by the Associated Collegiate Press.

 The winners of the award — widely regarded as “the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism” — will be announced at this fall's National College Media Convention in New Orleans on October 26. The Ithacan's website won the Online Pacemaker in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012, and was a finalist in 2009.

The Associated College Press is the oldest and largest membership organization of college journalists in the country. 

On Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00 pm there will be a student-run vigil held at the Textor Ball to show support for those in the Ithaca College community that were affected by Monday's tragedy. Two bombs were set off at the finish line for the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring at least 140 more. This is a time for people to get together to show support for Bostonians and anyone affected by this tragedy. If you want to bring a candle, please do but they will not be supplied.

Professor of Music Dr. Janet Galván has had a busy and successful 2013, full of exciting guest conducting experiences and outreach.

This past February, she conducted the Massachusetts High School Mixed All-State Chorus. This was the second time that she has conducted this ensemble, which performed in Boston’s Symphony Hall to a full house, receiving two standing ovations.

The Ithaca College Choir and Symphony Orchestra will perform an adventurous program in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Friday, April 19.

Beginning at 8 p.m., the School of Music’s Choir (ICC) and Symphony Orchestra (ICSO)—conducted by Lawrence Doebler and Jeffery Meyer respectively—will perform “20th Century Anniversaries: Poulenc, Britten and Lutoslawski.” The program features a solo by guest alumna soprano Jessica Julin ’02, and will also include works by William Byrd and György Ligeti.

Jarrett Bastow, ’11 School of Music graduate, recently won a section double bass position with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra

He advanced last month in the audition process and was awarded the opportunity to play with the orchestra on a trial basis as the final part of the audition.
