On November 8 and 9, 2012, pianist Alan Huckleberry of the University of Iowa will join us to present a masterclass and lecture.

Clarinetist Jean Kopperud will be giving a unique class called "On the Edge: Learning to Give Peak Performances", November 7 at 6PM in Ford Hall Auditorium The class teaches performers of all stripes—including actors, musicians and singers, and public speakers such as lawyers and business professionals—methods to ease stage anxiety. The class incorporates the best methods she has gleaned from numerous acting and dance classes, as well personal tips from a life spent before an audience. Any students who might be interested in playing for Ms. Kopperud in the class should contact Richard Faria at rfaria@ithaca.edu.

This Saturday, November 3, Ithaca College will dedicate the new Robert B. Tallman Rowing Center down on Cayuga Inlet. The magnificent new facility replaces the Haskell Davidson Boathouse, which was torn down last year after nearly four decades of service to IC crew.

We'll start the day on Saturday with the Freeman Cup intrasquad race at 9:00 a.m., followed by the formal dedication of the facility starting at 11:00 a.m.

The Peggy R. Williams Award for Academic and Community Leadership recognizes outstanding juniors and seniors who excel in academic performance, perform service to the Ithaca community and beyond, and represent an exemplary level of accomplishment.

Any Ithaca College faculty member, staff member, or student may nominate an outstanding junior or senior for a 2012-2013 Peggy R. Williams Award.  Self-nominations are also accepted.

Nominate a student (or students) before 5:00pm on Friday, November 16. 

All eligible nominees will be sent an application form to complete. Only students who complete the application will be considered.

We have not even sent out all of our United Way pledge packets, and we already received back a goodly number of generous donations! As of Hallowe'en night, with great early support from 40 members of our campus community, we are already 15% of the way to our campus fundraising goal of $65,000! Way to go!

ITHACA, N.Y. – Ken Kutler, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports at Ithaca College, has announced his retirement effective June 28, 2013. Kutler is currently serving in his 10th year in that position at Ithaca College and his tenure has been marked by significant upgrades to the college’s athletic facilities, tremendous advances in Title IX compliance, growth in fundraising initiatives, enhancements in the recruitment of student athletes, and expansion of the recreational sports program.
