Reminder...Grief Support Group

Contributed by LeBron Rankins on 10/28/12

Living with grief need not be a private experience.  Having a container in which to address your grief can be very comforting and stress relieving.  Consider letting the Grief Support Group be that container for you.

The group provides an opportunity to face your grief without feeling like you're bringing others down.  The group also provides an opportunity to offer support to someone else experiencing grief.

Fall 2012 represents our highest number of students requesting services since we began peer tutoring in Fall 2009!

Although each year we have increased our tutoring staff to meet the rising demand for academic assistance, as of today, October 26, 2012, most of our peer tutors are booked/at capacity and we are unable to increase our hiring.

For some courses, we are making small groups.  Individual one-on-one tutoring is extremely limited in most.  To further meet increasing student requests we have eliminated some of our course offerings and focused on those 1st year courses with the historic highest rates of Ds, Fs, and Ws.  We are also focusing on those courses which over the past two years have had high rates of requests for tutoring.

Thank you for requesting AES services and making it a great Fall 2012! We are pleased with the increase in demand for AES services over the past 3 years.

Although we have increased our tutoring staff to meet this demand, at this time of the semester many of our tutors are booked/at capacity.  For some courses, we are making small groups.  Individual one-on-one tutoring is available in some courses but limited in most.

After November 2, 2012, you will be unable to request tutoring for Fall 2012.

Take a sincere assessment of where you are in your coursework.  If you find that you need tutoring, make your request today and we will do our best to accommodate you.
