A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms producing tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Those living in watch areas are advised to monitor weather reports for a possible upgrade to a Tornado Warning, which means that a tornado is indicated by radar or sighted by trained storm spotters.
