To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, we have transformed our bookmarks and postcards into microtopias:  they are now 2-for-1 coupons for our films, silent film/live music commissions,  and workshops at Cinemapolis, March 29-April 1.

Just show your bookmark at the theater and get two admissions to one film. Single admssion is $8 for students and $9.50 regular admission. Coupons are not valid for discounts on festival passes.

Patrick Conway and His Famous Band by Mark Fonder, is an American dream story rarely encountered. 

Patrick Conway’s lifespan and the golden era of the professional band in America literally coincided. This book tells how Conway became one of the luminaries of the professional band era; as famous in his day as John Philip Sousa.  Within Conway’s story we see how his professional band developed after the Civil War, how the instrumentation of the American wind band evolved, how band musicians learned their craft and made a living, and how bands functioned in the social fabric of the American culture.
