November 17th was the American Cancer Society's 36th Great American Smokeout. Smokers are encouraged to quit, or make a plan to quit smoking as the first step in living a healthier life and creating a world with more birthdays. Ithaca College is celebrating the Great American Smokeout (GASO) all this week with a bunch of awesome events!  Check them out below!

Colleges Against Cancer will be holding the annual Relay For Life Kickoff event this Thursday, December 1st from 7:00-10:00pm in the pub at Ithaca College!

You DON'T want to miss out on this great event! There will be several performances by IC groups (listed below), a Round Robin to learn about each committee of Colleges Against Cancer, laptops to sign up for Relay online, and CANDY.  We'll also be announcing this year's RELAY THEME!

An assessment of the confidential document shredding service being provided by Facilities Services will result in substantial changes being made to this service beginning January 2, 2012. These changes relate to the delivery and pick up of locked bins to offices on campus.

To maintain confidentiality all documents will be shredded by a certified document destruction service, the cost of this service will be passed to the generator.

The Ithaca College women's soccer team (15-3-3) scored two early goals en route to beating Cortland (14-6-3) 2-0 in an NCAA quarterfinal match. With the win the Bombers advance to the "final four" in San Antonio where they'll face Wheaton (Ill.) Friday in one semifinal with William Smith and Messiah meeting in the other.

The semifinals and final will be held Friday and Saturday at San Antonio's Blossom Soccer Stadium. Ithaca (15-3-3) will face Wheaton [Ill.]. who is 21-1-1 on the season at 1:30 p.m. CDT in the second semifinal with Messiah (21-0-1) meeting William Smith (20-0-1) Friday at 11 a.m. CDT in the other. Friday's winners will play Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for the national championship. The Bombers, who have posted four wins so far in the NCAA playoffs, are making their sixth trip to the final four (1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1998). Ithaca won the 1990 and 1991 NCAA titles and no school has made more playoff appearances than Ithaca's 22.

Men’s and women’s crew have begun winter training.  There will be an information session for interested new-comers on Friday, December 9, at 4:30 pm at the A. & E. Center main foyer.  This session is for anyone interested in finding out more about the men's and women's rowing team.  No experience is necessary.  This sport will teach you a new skill, get you into top physical condition, send you out onto Cayuga Lake, and offer an opportunity to travel and compete on a varsity level.

Nope you shouldn't.

I am not sure whether you are on a Mac or a PC but we have identified a process that migrates the local profile for the guardian (primary user) of the machine. So, for example, many Mac users use the "user" account and their data and preferences (background, desktop, documents etc) are stored in this profile. We migrate this "user" profile to the new profile, in my case, alee. Then when I log in using alee, all of my "stuff" is there.
