Ithaca College’s Medical Amnesty Policy (IC MAP) encourages students to seek medical assistance related to drug and alcohol use without worrying about college judicial consequences. If you are concerned for a friend who passes out (or experiences another medical difficulty) from drugs and/or alcohol, be sure to get them help ASAP. The student who receives medical assistance - and the student who called for help- will NOT be sanctioned through the college judicial system, if the following apply:

• The case has been approved for amnesty by the Office of Judicial Affairs.
• No other conduct violations were committed by the student during the same incident.
• The student completes a required educational follow-up in a timely manner.

The first vendor workflow tool demonstration, scheduled for Monday, September 19, has been postponed and will be rescheduled later in the semester.

The other two vendors, however, will be conducting their demonstrations as scheduled on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23.

The cleanup from the historic flooding in our region has begun, and we are asking for your help.  Owego Elementary School (pictured) was severely damaged with several feet of water throughout the building.  The Owego area schools have always been particularly supportive of the Ithaca College School of Music and our Music Education Department.  They have hosted countless student teachers over the years, and now they are asking for help from the Ithaca community.

The Office of International Programs (OIP) would like to invite all faculty and staff members to attend a workshop designed to assist in the development of short-term study abroad programs.  Short-term study abroad programming is an important component of the overseas study options available to Ithaca College students. College faculty and staff members have successfully lead programs over the past several years to a number of different locations, including most recently Belize, China, England, India, Italy, Malawi, and Scotland.

On Sunday, October 2nd at 8:15 PM in Ford Hall, Ithaca College pianist Josh Condon will host an evening of classical, jazz and gospel music featuring special appearances by Ithaca's own VOICES Multicultural Chorus and the internationally known jazz vocalist Nancy Kelly.

John Conahan ('96) was the arranger for this performance of "Amazing Grace" that closed the National Cathedral's weekend of events commemorating 9/11.

Musical Theatre alum, Zach James ('05) played a part in the Times Square performance of "New York, New York" presented by the performers of all the shows on Broadway on 9/11.

The purpose of the Did you know? Food Series, is to update communications on local, sustainable, healthy and organic foods on campus. We will announce each topic on intercom and the Sustainability Intern Blog as well as post information at all of the food stations where our feature is located. These communications will become a permanent part of these food stations, to continue to inform students, faculty, and staff.

A second-chance screening of the film Out for the Long Run will take place Wednesday, September 21 at 7 pm in Textor 103. The film follows several openly gay and lesbian high school athletes through their senior year in high school and beyond. Filmed over an entire senior year, the student athletes navigate the uncertain waters of high school life while still holding true to their passion for sports and remaining true to who they are as individuals.
