Dr. Michael Smith, Associate Professor of History and Environmental Studies and Sciences, and Dr. Ali Erkan, Associate Professor of Computer Science at Ithaca College have been awarded a $50,000 National Endowment for the Humanities Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant. Their project, “Untangling the Web of Historical Thinking: What the Structures of Student-Produced Wikis Reveal,” is a curriculum design initiative that examines how students' use of wikis can help them reach and cross conceptual thresholds in their understanding of historical knowledge.

The School of Humanities and Sciences and the Department of Writing are pleased to welcome nonfiction writer Amitava Kumar, fiction writer ZZ Packer, and poet Evie Shockley as part of this semester’s Distinguished Visiting Writers Series. They will be reading, respectively, at 7:30pm on September 7th and September 28th in Clark Lounge, and October 26th in Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hal. The readings are free and open to the public.

Wellness Clinic Re-opens

The Wellness Clinic has now re-opened for the semester. If you would like to become a member, go to our website  (http://ithaca.edu/hshp/clinics/wellness/ )  and follow the "Join The Clinic" link. Fill out the Health History Form, which will automatically be e-mailed to us. We will get back in touch with you shortly.

Group Exercise classes will begin on Tuesday, September 6th. All classes (except Pilates) are included free with your membership. To view our fall schedule, click on the link above to get to our website and select "Group Exercise." If you would like to ONLY participate in group exercise classes, we offer that type of membership as well. This semester we will be offering some great classes .

We now offer payroll deduction for payment of dues. If you would like this option, drop by the Clinic or give us a call for more details (274-1301).
