Chris Zivalich has been awarded an Emerson Humanities Collaboration Award for his project “Incorporating Podcasts Into Second Language Acquisition Curriculum,” which he will undertake in collaboration with Prof. James Pfrehm (Modern Language) this summer. In June, Chris and Prof. Pfrehm will travel to Irvine, CA to present a portion of this research at the annual IALLT (International Association for Language Learning Technology) conference.

 More Honors for The Ithacan

 The Ithacan has been awarded the Second Place Mark of Excellence Award for Best All-Around Non-Daily Newspaper by the Society of Professional Journalists, Northeast Region. The award was presented April 9 at the SPJ Region 1 convention in Providence, R.I.

In addition, junior Whitney Faber received a Second Place Mark of Excellence Award for Feature Writing at the convention for her story, "Behind the Lens," which appeared in the September 2, 2010, issue of The Ithacan
